Rental property booking tips:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting and booking the perfectvacation home:
- Start by having your family choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 3rd-floor oceanfront condo with AC, pool, hot tub & WiFi has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
