How to find the best vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First, have your group choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 7th Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ AC, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, WiFi has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
