Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront, Spacious & Updated Condo at SeaWatch Resort - 8 Pools \/ 11 Hot Tubs has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
