Finding the best vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 7th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Studio w\/ Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, AC, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your family.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
