Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

How to get the best rental value:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:

  • First, have your family commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 8th Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ AC, WiFi, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
