How to get the best rental home experience:
Find your best deal:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick a perfectrental:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 8th-floor oceanfront studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
