Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. 9th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, AC, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If not, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
