Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing a perfectrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 9th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, AC, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If not, contact the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
