Tips to get the perfect rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select your dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. BEACH HIDEAWAY ~ Ocean View ~ Affordable Luxury ~ 1B\/1B has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is suitable for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
