Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect rental:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Almost Heaven: 2B 2B Ocean View Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
