Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Maison Sur Mer 1108 - Myrtle Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
