Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Stunning Ocean View Caravelle Resort Suite - King! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
