Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best vacation home:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Anchors Away - Sands Oceanfront Luxury Condo has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
