Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Anchors Away - Sands Oceanfront Luxury Condo has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
