Booking the best rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • First and foremost, have your group select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Pools has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
