How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Awesome condo at Magnolia Place Myrtle Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is right for your family.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
