Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Awesome condo at Magnolia Place Myrtle Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
