Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose yourrental home:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Upgraded Oceanfront 3B\/3B Condo - Ocean Creek Resort - Walk to Barefoot Landing! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
