Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Finding the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Upgraded Oceanfront 3B\/3B Condo - Ocean Creek Resort - Walk to Barefoot Landing! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
