Tips and Tricks for getting the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beach Bliss on the 18th Floor Includes Breakfast has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
