Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beach Bum Paradise 14th Flr Oceanfront King Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, email the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
