Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 1BR Ocean Forest Plaza Condo ????? Oceanfront ????? has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. text the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
