How to find the best rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose yourrental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 1BR Ocean Forest Plaza Condo ????? Oceanfront ????? has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
More considerations:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
