Tips to get the optimal rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. DIRECT OCEANFRONT 2 BEDROOM CONDO! AMAZING VIEW! LARGE BALCONY! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
