How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your group choose the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beach Life Oceanview Efficiency DW 1605 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
