Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing the perfect rental:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. 8th-floor oceanfront studio with central AC and Pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
