Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Beach Memories are waiting to be made here at Racin' to the Beach has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
