Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Romantic 14th floor w\/ a WOW View! King, full condo w bar, personally managed has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
