Vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking the bestvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 7th Floor Ocean View Studio WiFi w\/ AC, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub-Dogs OK has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
