Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental value:
- To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beach Therapy @ Our Oceanfront Suite w\/2 balconies has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
