Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beach Therapy\/Oceanfront\/2 balconies has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
