Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
When to go & When to book:
- To find the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group choose vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront 3 Bedroom\/2Bath at SeaWatch Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is best for your trip.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
