Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beachy Ocean View King Ste with Breakfast 12th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your trip.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
