Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Beautiful 2 Bedroom Laurel Court Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your invoice.
Tips for a great stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
