Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding the best value:
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- To get the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beautiful 2BR Ocean View Condo at Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
