How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the perfect rental home:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beautiful 2BR Ocean View Condo at Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
