Our top Rental home tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing yourvacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Beautiful Condo, Quiet and Secure in Ideal Location. Golfers' Paradise has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
