Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Beautiful Condo, Quiet and Secure in Ideal Location. ** 2024 rental rates** has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
