Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective.
