Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Narrow your Search:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beautifully Renovated King Romance Suite-Breathtaking Oceanfront Views! Ocean Reef 905 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your group.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
