Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose yourvacation home:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Beautiful Ocean View 1 Bedroom Condo with Electric Fireplace-Meridian 805 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
