Tips to get the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
How to choose and book the bestrental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beautiful Ocean View Queen Suite + On-Site Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
