Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful Ocean View Queen Suite + On-Site Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
