Strategies to get the optimal rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightvacation home:
- First, have your family commit to dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Sand Dunes Myrtle Beach Ocean Front Condo. Efficiency\/Studio has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
