Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful Oceanfront 3 Bedroom w\/ Balcony + On-Site Pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
