Booking the best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Beautiful Oceanfront Condo - steps from the beach! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
