Our top Rental home booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First, have your group choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful Oceanfront Condo - steps from the beach! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
