How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group select a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beautiful 1 Bedroom Condo in Ocean Creek Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
