How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by having your group choose vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Creek Resort Condo - You and Me by the Sea has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If not, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
