How to find the best rental home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Finding the best vacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Creek Resort Condo - You and Me by the Sea has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
