Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the rightvacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean Forest Villas Unit C315 - Ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
