Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront - Amazing - Beach Farmhouse Remodel! Book Early for Best Dates! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
