Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront - Amazing - Beach Farmhouse Remodel! Book Early for Best Dates! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If not, email the host before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
