Vacation rental tips:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful Clean Updated Modern Direct Oceanfront Unit With Amazing Views has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
