Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautifully Decorated 3BA\/2BA Home with Golf Cart has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
