Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautifully Renovated 2 Bedroom Condo-Breathtaking Views! Sand Dunes 2949\/2950 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
