Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Selecting and booking the bestrental:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Sun and Sand Oceanfront Jr Suite 2nd Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
