Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Beautifully Updated 1 Bedroom Suite! Sand Dunes Room 2746 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your family.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
