Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
How to choose and book your prefectrental home:
- Start by having your family commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 2nd-floor studio with pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
