Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Choose your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Blue Water Resort Condo #818 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
