Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Direct Oceanfront 1 bedroom Condo - Surf's Up Oceanfront Oasis 1416 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If not, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
