Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on the best dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 17th Floor 1Br Oceanfront\/ Dogs OK! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Tips for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
